I would trade Shattenkirk for him in a heartbeat! So yes, that is too low.

Carter's value is too low right now to try to get fair value for him.
I know, I tried to trade him for awhile now and nobody bites.
I think the best option is to wait/hope for a trade (LA would be great) and then build on the hype to get a better return.

Like I said in another thread, an owner in my league offered me Scott Hartnell for Carter straight up and I took it.
He thinks Hartnell is overachieving and having a career year (most likely true), but he plays with great linemates on and off the power play and racks up tons of PIM. He's also only 29 going on 30 so I think he can repeat this in the future. I figured it was better to go with a safe bet (Hartnell) than with a gamble (Carter).
How about getting stepan and hodgson for carter ?

I wouldn't be so desperate about moving Carter. I'd wait another week at least, and use trade deadline rumours to your advantage.
