I would rather have Bryz and an improving Phoenix team than Toskala on a rebuilding Leafs team. Since he is trying to talk you into it try and get him to throw something else in ( a decent pick?).

I like Sin Bin\'s comment... see what else you can get too. I definitely like Bryzgalov over Toskala
In my mind, they are both about even, and this trade is a six of one half dozen of another type deal. I think people discount Toskala because they are Leaf fans (you always are harder on those you love). No one really complained about Toskala when he was in SJ.
Having so said, I think Phoenix relies on Bryz more than Toronto relies on Toskala. Also, Phoenix is a couple of years away from maturing into a solid team, whereas the Leafs forever suck (sorry, but its true).
Makr the deal knowing that, at the very least, you won\'t lose anything. Also, try to get a something extra included (like a 2nd round draft choice).

I like them both rather equally as goalies - they are my tandem in one of my keepers - but if I had to choose, it would depend on the team they\'re in, your league situation, and the scoring system.
You say that your league is a 1-year. Does that mean you wouldn\'t retain your goalie beyond this season? If this is only for this season and you still have something to play for, go for Toskala. Phoenix have nothing to play for, the Leafs players are trying. Down the stretch this season, the leafs will be better. But if you keep players beyond this year, Bryz is more valuable. The Leafs will have a couple of lean years next (at least a couple) while Phoenix is on the rise. This is even more of a factor given your scoring system , because it punishes the goalie for a loss (of which Toskala will have more than Bryz starting next season) and gives a hefty bonus for shutouts, of which starting next year Bryz will have more, simply because of the team they\'re on. That they both have the same save percentage, Bryz would still give up less goals and will have more wins simply because Phoenix would give up less shots and score more goals than the Leafs in the next two seasons at least.

good point fzusher,if it\'s 1 year gamble on toskala as T.O. are pouring it on down the stretch playing with more heart and passion than most other teams , but i do\'nt think one will do any better than the other to be honest. if it\'s a goalie for the future i like bryzgalov with pho. as opposed to toskala with T.O.

One more thing to consider if it\'s for long term that I forgot - Bryz is 3 years younger.

I would go with Bryz. Phoenix are still in the hunt. The best player (?) for the Laffs is now injured and that will probably repeat itself to the end of the year. Phoenix has a young team, this is new to them, they are feeding off Bryz and Gretzky. Bryz will outperform Toskala to the end of the year.
I do it.
I\'d take Bryzgalov as well. Phoenix is going to be a great team in a couple of years with all of that young talent.
bryz is on absolute fire right now - that is a steal of a deal!!! he\'s winning games for the them huge... he\'s 2nd in the league in save %!!! better than luongo and brodeur!
