Another 'should I trade Crosby' thread

I've got Crosby in a 14 team points keep any 4 keeper pool (not the one in my signature below but similar stats), I'm currently in first by a slim margin. It's a start 2 goalie pool so as you can imagine goalies are at a premium and are extremely valuable (many teams have 2 goalies as keepers).

My keepers in this pool will be 4 of the following

Crosby
Thornton
Spezza
Kovulchuk
Kessel
J Benn
Hiller

Not sure right now who my keepers would be going forward beyond Crosby and Hiller. For my goalies I've currently got Hiller, Brodeur, Elliott and Sanford, so I could use some help. After posting I'd be interested in trading Crosby I've been offered the following deal

E Staal
Cotoure
Theodore

for

Crosby
Kaberle
Sanford

I could switch out either Cotoure or Staal for Yandle if I wanted. I'm considering this as it could give me the push I need to solidify the win but I'd be downgrading Crosby to Staal or Cotoure as as keeper so not sure if it's the best deal long term.

In a nutshell is it worth downgrading Crosby to Staal or Cotoure as a keeper to have a real chance at winning this year? I'm really on the fence with this and any feedback would be appreciated.

Nope, this deal doesn't make enough sense IMO. If you're dealing Crosby, aim higher. Those are all pretty good players, but you should be targeting top notch forwards or goalies IMO. The manager you're dealing with doesn't seem to have much star power on his team, look elsewhere.

I agree with dmvincent. That's not a deal you should consider. Crosby is still worth considerably more than that.

Not only is that offer a big downgrade at F...I'd argue, long term, that's a downgrade in goal too. I know Theodore and Fla ar on fir right now, but really.....if you're considering trading Crosby and need a goalie, I'd be willing to bet you could get a top 5 goalie thrown back your way.
