Elliott is more flashy but Leddy just gets it done. For this year I would go with Leddy as even if he slumps he is the better defensive player and will continue to log big minutes...

I may be the only one here and a bit biased, both options are solid, but I take Elliott just before Leddy. Elliott has elite offensive skill while Leddy has great offensive ability. Elliott appears to be the man on the first unit right now and I'd be riding that while it's hot. Hes defensive play has also been great which means increased ice time each night. There's also less competition for him in COL. I'd take Elliott, but I wouldn't argue with Leddy.

Even though I picked Leddy your assessment is great and I don't think you'll be in the minority I think I will.

I don't think you could argue with either, though. Six to one, half a dozen to the other. Leddy is more proven than Elliott, Elliott is more of a gut feeling!

I think they're similar skill-wise, but I'd take Leddy because I think he's in a much better environment to put up big numbers and succeed long-term. Also +/- advantage definitely goes to Leddy.

I don't think the future in chicago is going to be much better than that of colorado. Both teams have solid building blocks for the future.

For the remainder of this year it's a toss up. But it a long-term keeper, I'd go with Elliott.

I'd go Elliott, preferribly with him being one of my keepers.

Leddy seems to be further along in his development and he's impressed me in the defensive zone. Numbers are probably gonna be better this plus next season. Coaching change might need to happen to get the most out of Elliot.

I'd also wait to see Erik Johnson get back in order to judge Elliot a bit more.
