Most of these lists are severely lacking Schultz. He's making college his bitch like it's nobody's business and he'll be a beauty. You'll all be going gaga over him by this time next year.

Completely agree. He simply slipped my mind, as he was not in the original list. I would slot him in around 8-9 on my list

Another guy i haven´t seen on any lists i kinda like and think should make those lists is Simon Despres. And if it´s only for the fact that he will be on the Pens.

I really appreciate everyone contributing to this thread. To be sure, a lot of Fantasy Hockey expertise was brought to bear on compiling a list of the best fantasy hockey defensive prospects. I took the time to consolidate everyone's response to build a list of the top 10 prospects according to the Dobber Nation. Here are the results, out of a possible 80 points (number one pick on a list = 10 points, number 10 pick on a list = 1 point) the top Fantasy Hockey Defensive Prospects are:

    1 Larsson 68
    2 Rundblad 65
    3 Smith 55
    4 Elliot 46
    5 Murphy 45
    6 Ellis 40
    7 Hamilton 34
    8 Voynov 27
    9 Orlov 26
    10 Leddy 24

    Honourable mention: Blum at 16
Other Honourable mentions: OEL, Gardiner, Gromeley, Faulk, Schultz, Morrow and Despres

Thanks again to all who contributed!!

Depres's value has fallen dramatically. He's been very underwhelming.

Despres is still thought of well, but he slipped a little and Morrow came in and impressed the hell out of people. He showed sick chemistry with Letang. Despres will be a nice player, but Morrow has him beat. This guy is going to put up POINTS!

    Enjoyed this thread. Great idea.

Well I'm glad you liked this bigbabybuda it seems others did as well. I hope your wrong about Rundblad though, I used a very high waiver position to snap him up. He potted his first goal last night and if his ice time continues to increase he may just justify the number 2 ranking on our list.

I see another list was just submitted so hopefully the thread will grow and if we get several more lists added I'll go through the numbers again and we'll see what that list looks like.

Since this thread seems to have been succesful and of interest to a few Dobberites I will put something together later on today and we'll have a shot at the forwards. Why not. Check the Keeper Forwards forum later on today for that thread.

Again, thanks to all, this is fun!! Hopefully Fantasy relevant as well, I took these results and based on our rankings dropped Blum for Smith earlier today! Time will tell.

bigbabybuda, I am quite interested to know why you put Rundblad so much lower. Got some big decisions to make soon = )
