Ok, we don\'t know where Filatov will be drafted. For the sake of argument, lets say both Filatov and Caputi are on the Pens team. Both are LWs, who do you like better long term?

Yeah, ditto. I like Filatov and like what I saw of him at the WJC and what I\'ve read in interviews.

Caputi though... I\'m not too familiar with him and can just barely remember seeing his name not too long ago... on OHL top scorers list maybe?

Filatov reminds me of Bure, the most entertaining player to watch ever. I wish I had a chance to draft him. Maybe I should conceed 1st to obtain him.

wow yea, thats a nice vid, that one goal he scores near the end is ridiculous... but one thing to note is he doesnt even celebrate with his linemates who helped (in a small way haha)to get him that goal he just runs around gloryfying himself.

I was talking with my friend the other day about Filatov and he made a good point.
I\'d wait and see where he gets drafted.
If he falls like Cherry last year I would be hesitant but if he goes top 3 pick him up.
I have heard that there is very little concern about him as his English is good and he really wants to play in the NHL.

I would also take what is said on the CBC Hotstove with a grain of salt, as well. Their claims are starting to get more and more outlandish.

If it weren\'t for the transfer agreement stuff, it\'d be Filatov no question. However, Caputi\'s a stud two-way winger with superb agitation ability. He\'s a much, much, much better version of Carcillo. If you want to make an Edmonton/Pittsburgh dynasty comparison, Caputi would be Tikkanen and he\'d get the points that come with that ice-time on such a skilled team.

from what you said Caputi is not a great pickup in a points only. what are the projections for both players.

as with the outlandish statements they make, this one I\'m pretty sure is from Ron MacLean, maybe it\'s just because I\'ve grown up hanging onto every word he says, but I really like his credibility. Albeit it was more of a general discussion than one based on cold hard facts.

i\'m pretty sure it was rick westhead who said it and both morrison and strachan thought he was off his rocker. they both seem to think that filatov will cross.

i\'ll be monitoring the situation closely too, as i\'ll most likely be in a position to pick him this year and i liked what i saw at the wjc\'s.
