Surprise of the century.
I'm sure most are aware, but Green has an ankle injury and it looks like he won't play tonight against Edmonton.
Coach Bruce Boudreau said Wednesday that it "doesn't look good" when he was asked about Green's availability.
Sean Collins is set to replace him in the lineup on a pairing with Jeff Schultz, while Dennis Wideman has been moved alongside Green's regular defense partner Roman Hamrlik during practices.
Green missed his third straight session on Wednesday and appears doubtful to dress against the Oilers.

General Manager George McPhee said on Friday at Rogers Arena in Vancoouver that he doesn't believe Mike Green's twisted right ankle is a long-term concern.
McPhee added that Green, who is still limping, has been trying to put his right foot in a skate but is likely a few days from being comfortable enough to return.
Green missed a fifth consecutive practice Friday with a twisted right ankle suffered on Oct. 22 against the Detroit Red Wings on the same play he was hit on the jaw by a puck. The defenseman had a lengthy conversation with McPhee in the stands here in Vancouver while the rest of the Capitals practiced.
Asked when he thought Green might be able to return, Coach Bruce Boudreau said he'd like to have the two-time Norris Trophy finalist back by next weekend.
"I wish I had that crystal ball,"Boudreau said when asked about Green, "I'm hoping he's back by next weekend."

Sorry, I meant that he was recently dropped and on waivers. I didn't try to pick him up but someone higher on the waiver priority list got him anyway, for my peace of mind later when he tallies his 28th 29th and 30th goals of the season in the same game
I prefer my three to him anyway.
As for his return, the fact that Boudreau said that he hopes to have him back next weekend (this weekend), I am inclined to think that he is underestimating his recovery time. He said that he can't fit his foot in his boot yet, typically that means that a proper assessment can't be made until the swelling subsides.
Defending champ but still hungover
Thanks 150Swiftly....rep for that post.
