NHL Play-by-play help

Hey guys,

On NHL.com you can view the play-by-play pages for each game. Can someone shed some light on a couple things for me?

What does the asterisk and exclamation mark mean? Some have it, most don\'t.

SHOT (!)
SHOT (*)
HIT (*)
HIT (!)

Also the ice shift pages for visitor and home sometimes have P, G on the last column. I thought it meant Point or Goal but I\'m not sure because there sure are a lot of P\'s...

Any insight is appreciated.

Hmmm...never picked up on that before. No idea - couldn\'t find anything when I looked around...
