    Default Elliott vs. Blum

I currently have Elliott but nobody drafted Blum and since Elliott was cut I am considering dropping him to pick up Blum. We only have 7 keepers and my roster is in my signature.

    H2H - G, A, +/-, PIM, PPP, shots.

Do I pick up Blum or wait for someone in Colorado to get hurt.

I suppose I could drop Hamonic instead, but I was looking for PIM out of him and I am not going to be able to keep more than 2 defensemen anyways.

I don't really know what way to go with this so I need some advice.

I'd take Blum for this season as I'm expecting good things in the plus/minus department from him as well.

Don't forget to look at the older guys though too as I noticed your D is super young and one or two "safe" players back there wouldn't hurt.

Do you think I should drop Elliott to pick him up or hope Elliott gets the call soon and drop Hamonic instead?

Drop Elliott for Blum. Blum is playing now so no point waiting while Elliott doesn't play to ponder the decision. Hamonic is a safe choice for this year as well and helps you in the PIMs.

Yeah My thinking going into the season was to see if he had a good season and use Karlsson for an upgrade on the wing or in goal.

I may have overthought things a bit.

nothing wrong with making plans just make sure that if things change you are willing to react quickly and change those plans

Guys, has anyone been following the Preds games and can report on how Blum has looked? Very excited about this player's progression, would love to hear any feedback. Will post in the Preds thread as well.

I'm going to take Elliott here over Blum "long-term".. I just have a hunch with this kid. I like Blum aswell, but I think Elliott will get more points with a young up and coming Colorado team..

Me as well. Short-term it's Blum without question...long-term, I still think S.Elliott will be the real deal. The thing is, how do you want to wait? Hopefully he gets the call this season the way the Avs are playing.

I'm going to have to go with Blum here, for one simple reason he is in Nashville and all these guys do is draft and evaluate stud D and if they thought enough to draft him in the first round that is good enough for me.

I agree, but there's more. To most it's obvious that Blum's play last year, especially in the playoffs, made it easier for Poile to pull the trigger on the Franson and Sulzer deals - he made both Franson and Sulzer expendable. That's what this guy means to the Predators. I am pulling for Weber to bolt or be traded, so that Blum can be promoted to run the PP in Music City.
