Misread TOI as PP Time, I'll admit fault there.

As far as plummet, have you taken part in a draft this year...? I think the highest I've seen him go was 25th, whereas just last year he was top 5 most drafts and a virtual lock for top 10. This is where the Malkin comparison comes in - 3 years ago after his 100+ point season, where was he drafted? Top 3. Two seasons later, after enduring back to back serious knee injuries, where is he drafted? Usually still top 5.

I dunno, everyone has their own opinion I'm sure but for me when I look at two defenseman and one is a proven point per game option and the other doesn't even have point per game upside... Really no competition to me.

I love love love Doughty and in points only he'd be my #2 choice for a d-man. But there's a large discrepancy between Green and every other defenseman. I don't think I see anyone other than Green capable of approaching 75 points.

I don't think anybody here is doubting that when healthy, Green is hands down the best offensive D-man in the league.

The point that I think you're overlooking dyz, is that this guy is a glass cannon. He gets injured... A LOT. Not just last year, but over the past 3 years in general. Everyone who has owned him will be able to sympathize with the frustration of never really knowing if he's 100% or not. And it's not like he has just one type of nagging injury like Malkin had with his knee last year... this kid injures EVERYTHING. Upper body injury, lower body injury, the flu, you name it.

Having said all of that, I would still take him as the first overall defenseman this year - I will give him the benefit of the doubt that he's healthy, but generally, I don't think the gap between Green, Doughty and even the other guys like Yandle, etc is as big as you make it seem. Injury history matters, and as CNFBC graphically pointed out above, this kid is definitely injury prone.

If he has another injury-ridden season this year, in my books he's in the same club as Gabby/Semin/Hossa, and in my opinion, if that happens it makes him less valuable than Doughty.

Green's the best fantasy dman on the planet. Doughty is #3 after Letang in my books.

Chalk me up for Green as well. Doughty has had one good year. ONE. And now all of a sudden he is the second coming of Bobby Orr? Let him prove he can hit 50 points consistently first before saying his offensive upside is more than Green's.
Head to Head League: 1 point for G, 1 point for A. 2 for Goalie win, 3 for SO.
Start 6 guys every week. 3 O, 2 D and 1G. No substitutions once they are in (before the first game starts on Monday).
Protect 3 players every year in keeper.
    10 rounds of drafting
F: Crosby, Point, P. Kane, JVR, Kopitar, Rakell, Tarasenko,
D: Letang, Doughty, Karlsson, Grzelcyk, Faulk,
    G: Bob, Shesterkin, Demko, Kahkonen

Green has the highest upside but the fact that he isn't as strong defensively as some other top offensive dman is concerning, as is his health of course. After watching Letang in person on Sunday night I think he is the most likely to overtake Green as the best fantasy dman if Green doesn't bounce back this year.
