I think Russell is on thin ice pun intended. There must be other options on the wire you can get that are better
So, I drafted Kris Russell as my 6th d-man, thinking he could get some 1st PP time or could become Columbus' 2nd PP quarterback, only to see he was a healthy scratch Saturday night. I know Wisniewski is currently suspended, but what else is going on with Columbus' backend? Is is already time to move on from Russell and find another option?

Thanks for the great article. Sent out a few trades for another d-man, but no bites yet. Waiver wire is kind of thin in my league, as we each have to start 6 d-men, but Kindl and Ericsson from the Wings are still available, as are Luke Schenn, Sekera, Ballard, MacDonald, Johnny Boychuck, Demers. Looks like any of these guys will be an improvement over Russell. Who would you choose to replace him? Thanks!

From that list I might try my luck with Ballard. Now that Ehrhoff has moved on, he is likely to see more and better ice time, and he has looked more fit and comfortable to start the year. He has come close to 40 points before, and his plus minus should be better in Van than it was in Phoenix.
