Default 10 team roto tonight with odd cats, suggestions?

10 team roto, pretty big roster..
    Here are the spots:
C, C, C, LW, LW, LW, RW, RW, RW, D, D, D, D, G, G, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, IR, IR, IR

    Cats:
Goals (G), Assists (A), Plus/Minus (+/-), Powerplay Points (PPP), Shorthanded Points (SHP), Shots on Goal (SOG), Faceoffs Won (FW), Hits (HIT), Blocks (BLK)

Wins (W), Goals Against Average (GAA), Saves (SV), Save Percentage (SV%), Shutouts (SHO)

Anything I should look out for or be aware of with the Hits and blocks catagories(never played them) or is that something i can worry about later in the draft?
Any off the top of your head comments please,
    Thanks!

    I'll send you a PM.

I have my first draft with these settings on Sunday... and if I type out my picks I'll give all of my planning away to horrorfan!

Roto vs H2H strategy is quite different.

    True (H2H vs. Roto)
The PM was regarding some multi-cat players I'm fond of.

We are going to be stealing players from each other left & right on Sunday.
(If my wife lets me get away from parenting to draft a few picks!)

Yeah we probably will, but I guess depending on how the draft goes our needs can change. Should be fun.

SDonkey - don't want to hijack any further, but just to say I'm sure you'll get some good suggestions from Pengwin. Good luck.

Thanks for the help so far guys. One more question, goalies. Thoughts on top for roto only?

Well 5/14 categories are for goalies, so they are very important. If you can be top or near the top in all goalie categories, then you've put yourself in a great position to contend for the title.

You'll get different rankings from different people, so I'll just list them in two groups (my opinion, there could be some overlap). However, keep in mind those that will likely playing more as you have saves as a category.

Note - both groups are in NO particular order:

    The elite:

    Lundqvist
    Rinne
    Luongo
    Miller
    Price
    Bryzgalov

Then there are guys with are close to being elite or are top goalies but have a bit more risk:

    Thomas (Rask threatening?)
    Niemi (can he repeat?)
Vokoun (could be elite but new team so bit of uncertainty)
Ward (plays a lot, but Boucher there so might be less than last season)
    Fleury (can he improve peripherals?)
    Hiller (over his vertigo?)
    Quick (Bernier threatening?)
Halak (if Blues improve, could he put up top numbers?)
    Crawford (can he repeat?)

The thing is - some people will rank some in my first group lower or second group higher. But most importantly, you need a top goalie for sure, and if you can land any one from these two groups as a second, you are laughing.

The good thing is that there are a lot of very good goalies available, so you shouldn't panic if you don't land an elite one early. However, be aware of the inevitable goalie run so that could force you into picking one when you are not planning on it. It's better if you can start it, rather than follow it, which opens up the possibility of getting a solid forward that falls a bit later.

If you have max games of 82 per slot, then you might need a starter as your third for spot starting or a very good backup that could play a fair bit (e.g. Rask/Bernier). Less goalies are playing 70+ games so a solid third is required, especially in roto to use your games.

    Good luck.
