Default Pavelec vs Backstrom (g) in a keeper pick 1

If you could only keep one who would you choose? W/Save%/SO/GAA

    My other goalie is Hiller...

    Thanks for the help!

I think Pavelec will be pretty good but if you think about the new climate and the intense road trips that come with playing in Winnipeg I think I'll take Backstrom. MIN is revamped and might actually win some games this year too.

Backstrom. He was a legit elite goalie just a few seasons ago, and with the improving Wild he should improve as well.

I like Pavelec more long-term (2+ years down the road)...If you're talking strictly for this season/near future then Backstrom is your guy, though I do worry that while Minnesota improved in the off-season their defense got considerably worse with the loss of Burns.

Backstrom is pretty underrated though IMO.

Hugely underrated! Check out his stat line! If you take out the past two years you get an average of:

    57 GP
    31 W
    2.20 GAA
    .924 SV%

Huge! Win and GP numbers are slightly deflated because he only played 41 games in his first season.
