I would avoid Downie, unless you want to drop Vishnovsky(which I wouldn't). If you want a similiar guy you have him, keep Clowe.
I may be able to get him in my league in sig as i dont think the guy is keeping him.
Would you take him over any of
Malkin, Backstrom, Ryan, Eriksson, Rinne, Varly, Visnovksy
or should i just try my luck in the draft.

I wouldn't keep Downie over any of those guys either. With an 8x6 split I think Varlamov and Rinne are both must keeps.
Goalies: If I'm pickin em you best be sittin em!
I don't think Downie makes your team better unless he hits 60 points this year and I don't think that will happen so you can pass on this deal I think.
Simply answer is no. He is not better than the guy you got for keepers at the moment.
Commish of UNFFHL, dangered species being the sole Panthers fan on Dobber.
Downie's one year of over 20 goals and 40 points, he shot at a 19% rate, which is not sustainable unless you are a Tanguay/Brunette type playmaker. His SOG/game (1.46) didn't change last season, so unless he increases that number, I can't see him as more than a potential 15G, 35-40 point guy with a lot of PIM. That's nowhere near enough to be one of your keepers. PIM is an easy category to fill, so you could easily get him in the draft, but don't reach for him.
