For those of you who have replaced the +/- statistic, what have you replaced it with? My league has already replaced PIM with Hits.
Blue Line Club Hockey League $ Keeper - 14 Teams (G,A,+/-,SOG,Hits,W,GAA,Sv%, SO)
Keepers - Duchene, Ovechkin, Kessel, Stewart. Letang, Karlsson, Rask
Prospects - Hall, Fowler, Bernier, Huberdeau,
Power Play Hockey League $ Keeper - 14 Teams (G,A,+/-,SOG,Hits,W,GAA,Sv%, SO)
Keepers - Toews, Parise, Semin, Letang, Kessel, Fowler, Niemi, Pavelec
Prospects - Landeskog, Gerbe, Lindback, Burmistrov
Takeaways, Giveaways would be an option.
I like blocked shots. Not exactly team category the way +/- is but does speak to the defensive style used by the team and also gives more importance to defensemen.
We are getting rid of +/_ this year too. It is a goofy cat. It's so hard to improve it when you need to. I traded for Suter and Hamhuis last year and they both were pretty much even after i got them...anyway, we added Short handed Time On the Ice last year. great cat. Also hits and blocked shots a few years ago.
we are trying to add one more to replace +/-, but we might just not replace it. some that we are discussing;
- majors
- face off wins
- face off wins minus fo losses
- rookie points
- shootout goals
Here's the offensive categories for my league, and I like them:
G,A,P,+-,PIM,PPP,SOG,HIT If you take +- out and don't have one of those I would add them. People ask why P? Because if some guy has 1G 11A and the other guy has 20G 10A should they tie categories 1-1? No, one guy should win 2-1
SHP is another useless category so I wouldn't implement that.
The Ultimate Fantasy Hockey League. (Keep 17)

That's a very interesting question. What system are you using (ESPN, CBS, Yahoo!, etc.)? I suppose that what I'm really getting at is, can you select custom categories that might be more complex in their computations? I've been thinking about this a bit lately myself.
