I would be very surprised to see Gomez in Ottawa. I am going to say Lou locks him up. Umm nope, you will see Gomez in a phoenix UNI.

He did say that he liked it in Ottawa and Melnyk went on record to say he would spend as much money as he could to bring the cup to Ottawa.

You would think that Gomez will command at least the $5 million ticket he had this year in NJ. I believe he could actually get more than that on the open market.

Considering his playoff performance, he just gave all those GMs, including Muckler in Ottawa, a legitimate reason to overpay him.

Unless Muckler actually does some housecleaning, or Melnyk found a loophole, I do not believe they will be able to add a $5 million dollar salary.
