Default De Haan or Y. Weber this year?

Who'd you rather in a pts only keeper, that rewards triple for D goals?

my take: Weber looks to have 2nd PP locked down, so he has the edge, but the Isles have always viewed De Haan as a PP QB, and behind Streit and Hamonic, there is room this year.

I am hoping to contend, so I am looking for production this year, BUT I will take the better long term option, if there is a chance for at least some production this season.

    Thanks

Weber definitely has the edge this year but De Haan has the edge beyond.

Does De Haan have a shot at second PP this year? PP1 Hamonic-Streit, PP2 MacDonald-De Haan??

Agree! De Haan could play in the AHL this year. Weber will play in the NHL and he is a lock on the 2nd PP unit.

Regarding the Islanders PP do not forget Okposo he is an option to play with Streit.

I think De Haan will need a year in the AHL. Anything else would be rushing it IMO. The Isles will be fine with Streit/Hamonic on the top PP line and MacDonald along with Wishart or Mottau on the 2nd unit.

Good enough for me. Kinda what I thought, but I appreciate the confirmation.

Thanks - we'll see how Barker does in Edm, he may turn into Weber

Weber's one-way deal makes him the choice for this season. DeHaan has an intriguing pedigree and one could argue he'd be the better of the two in a keeper but I want to see what Weber can do if he can stick in their top 6 rotation.

Weber's one way deal helps the cause. Not to hijack my own thread, but I am debating between Weber and Hamhuis, since De Haan is out of the running.

Both probably second unit, but I have always been a Weber fan. Hammy, not so much

Brilliant insight. This is why DobberHockey is so great, deep fantasy analysis like the above gives us all the edge over others in our leagues.

Well for me for next season...

Do people really think De Haan will jump from junior right to the NHL? Only saw him play once, wasn't overly impressed. I think I agree with ED that he might spend a year in the ahl first. So keeping that in mind I'd rather have Weber.

factoring in Hamhuis I'd rather have him, but maybe that's just me.

Haven't you watched the movie Slapshot?

Anyways, Loco is in my league.

Wasn't trying to confuse everyone in the thread.

How does one miss a slapshot reference on this site?
