Default [RKM] Top 10 Blocked Shots & Hits - Defensemen Edition

Jeff Angus and I have collaborated on a Top 10: Blocked Shots & Hits - Defensemen Edition.

The report will be released this weekend, any guesses?

Note that there is zero influence from other categories, strictly Blocked Shots & Hits.

Off the top of my head from what I noticed last year.

Schenn, Girardi, Phaneuf, and Giordano might be in there. They all kind of have some addition of points with them too, didn't really pay attention to the other guys that didn't have an some what of an influence in the G,A categories. So I am very interested in seeing the list!

Also, I know Robidas was somewhat of a dissapointment compared to his previous years in those cats but could still be up there.

Yeah Girardi and Schenn are absolute monsters at both these categories. Greg Zanon is another one that stays under the radar but I know a lot of dobberites have taken advantage of that fact (mainly because I had never heard of him before someone mentioned it here!).

Brent Seabrook is an absolute multi-cat stud on D.

    Great guesses so far.

Got a good list going there Temek, without revealing my rankings, your top eight players made the cut. Consider Murray and Weber HM's though.

As for Zanon - you gotta give that guy some love. Like I mention in my detailed break down for him, he often gets forgotten about. Sucked seeing him leave Nashville.

Griers, I too am a fan of Giordano. He broke out of his shell last season and he'll be one to watch for many seasons.

As usually is the case with these rankings the bottom part of the list is pretty much interchangeable with several other players. So instead of Murray, Weber and Peckham you could easily list players like Seidenberg, Gleason, Volchenkov, Phaneuf, Giordano. Sbisa and Hamonic look very interesting as well if you are looking from a keeper perspective.

    You got that right.

With all the players you mentioned, you hit my 10.

As for Sbisa and Hamonic, they look good no doubt and could break the list in a couple of years. However my list puts a focus on the one year to three year upside for teams looking to win and win now.

Sounds like a fun league, hits and BS only!

No particular order - Greene, Girardi, Zanon, Schenn, Peckham, Orpik, Robidas, Seabrook, Giordano, Phaneuf
