McCabe off the IR..who to drop?

So McCabe\'s back..any ideas on who to drop? Emery? Burns and stick with 3 D? I\'m hoping Hejduk picks it up after Stastny comes back.

I looked - I would not drop anyone - just leave him on IR for now.

Good question. Personally, I would be tempted to package Selanne, who\'s value is high, with either Emery or Lehtonen, and go after a better RW option. Offer it to someone in your league that needs goalie stats and they might bite. You should also consider the number of games left for your RW players. If you could pick up someone like Gaborik you also gain a couple of extra games for your RW position. Also the 3D is not a bad option either, but I\'d still try to deal.

I\'d look at dropping Emery. The likelihood of Emery getting picked up of waivers is pretty low at this point and you\'re probably not playing him.

Doesn\'t look like you have to drop anyone. Don\'t you have an open roster spot on D? Couldn\'t you just slide him into there, or am I reading this after you\'ve dropped someone already?

Nah, he\'s on the IR, so I\'d have to drop someone if I were to activate him.

Based on your pool settings you\'re getting a lot of conflicts at RW and G.

For the rest of the season I can see that you can only play Bertuzzi for 9 of his remaining 23 games.

You\'re also getting 24 conflicts on your Goalies.

If you bring in McCabe, you\'ll get to play all 26 of his remaining games with no conflicts.

So, balance must be a consideration..especially with 2 RW from the same team.

Ooohh sorry guys, I forgot to mention that there\'s no limit on games played (unlike roto). It\'s a weekly H2H, we can play our skaters/goalies at will.

Ah... when I looked at your settings it looked like you were limited to CCLLRRDDDDGG per day. This different than games played limits.

I was trying to point out, based on scheduling conflicts, that you have more than 2 goalies or more than 2 RW playing on the same night pretty often. These kinds of conflicts can sometimes be avoided with some balancing.

Yeah, you\'re right. I\'ve hardly been playing Emery lately. I picked him relatively early in the draft and I keep hoping he\'ll have a good stretch and take the #1 spot back..but who knows.

Right now, if you rank Emery as your 4th Goalie, you can play him for 10 of his remaining 27 games.

I\'m just saying that you could play McCabe for all 26 of his remaining games.

It\'s an example where you need to determine which scenario has more value.

Is McCabe worth picking up and keeping over Coburn the rest of the way?

Emery did win yesterday. With Paddock\'s flawed \"win and your in\" system, that means he should get the start tomorrow against the Habs as well. This could finally be the beginning of a run of games (and hopefully wins) for him.

Based on what emurdoch is saying I think one of Bert, Hejduk or Emery can go and it is to your benefit to activate McCabe. His program does a nice job of analyzing this situation. Stastny and Smyth are on their way back so your hope for Hejduk might be rewarded - I would be very nervous about letting Emery go - I truly believe he will be the guy - even though you might not play him much better on your team than someone else\'s for now. So Bert looks like the odd man out - you lose 9 of his games but gain 26 for McCabe and God willing that would work out for you.

Do not leave the idea of a trade out of this - you might be able to upgrade with the extra goalie you have if Emery comes on strong.
