    Default 2011 Draft Top 10?

    My best guess:

    #1-----EDM ----- RNH----------Edmonton wants a #1 center
#2-----COL-----Landeskog-----Set at center and have strong young d already.
#3-----FLA------Larsson-------The rebuild begins with as solid a player as u can get.
#4-----NJD------Murphy-------We liked that Rafalski kid and our current set of d suck.
#5-----NYI------Couturier------BPA-Both centers ahead of him can also play wing.
#6-----OTT-----Huberdeau-----Needs scoring help ASAP. D is fairly set.
#7-----ATL------Hamilton------Went with a forward the last 2 years. Back to D.
#8-----CLB------Strome--------They can try to ruin him too.
#9-----BOS------Bartschi------Surprise pick so high but why not.
#10----MIN------Zibenejad-----Team Finland grab their 1st Swede.

    I tried. Anyone else?

#1EDM RHN They want him and unless they trade down, they pick him!
#2COL Landeskog What the doctor ordered for them after trading Stewart.
#3FLO Larsson How do they pass on him?
    #4NJ Murphy Rafalski 2.0
#5NYI Huberdeau Too much skills to pass. Will fit perfectly with this young group.
    #6OTT Couturier French-speaking centerman, big, talented, ...
#7ATL Strome They don't have a guy like him in their system.
#8CBJ Hamilton They need D, and badly!
#9BOS Oleksiak A mammoth to replace Mr. Mammoth when he retires...
#10MIN Zibanijad A good mix of skills and grit, might make the jump...

I posted my draft rankings here but that isn't really a "mock draft" per se. If I had to guess how it actually unfolds I would say....

    1. EDM - RNH
    2. COL - Landeskog
    3. FLA - Larsson
    4. NJD - Hamilton (I want to say Couturier)
    5. NYI - Couturier
    6. OTT - Huberdeau
    7. ATL - Zibanejad
    8. CLB - Murphy (although they could opt for the safer Siemens)
    9. BOS - Strome
    10. MIN - Siemens
Re: Bartschi - The kid has talent and he's been projected to go Top 10 in quite a few drafts. I actually thought about putting him in instead of Strome at 9th (and I might do that when I officially release my Mock Draft)

Actually, I have made this comparision before and ironically I think Strome and Little are an extremely good comparison

    1. EDM - RNH
    2. COL - Larsson
    3. FLA - Huberdeau
    4. OTT (via NJD) - Landeskog
    5. NYI - Couturier
    6. NJD (via OTT) - Murphy
    7. ATL - Strome
    8. CBJ - Hamilton
    9. BOS - Beaulieu
    10. MIN - Armia

NJD trades 4th pick to Ottawa for 6th pick, OTT 2nd, and OTT later pick. OTT moves up to get their guy, NJD moves down because they are comfortable with Murphy or Couturier, and they gain an early second in a draft where that player could easily be ranked high on their list.

Fine, Ottawa can give them Nashville's first rounder instead (#21), and they get back NJ's second. So #4 and #38 for #6 and #21. Not a big loss for NJ to pay to drop two spots. It could happen, don't see why not. It helps both teams.

I'm not set on Landeskog going Top 3, some teams will question whether his offensive upside warrants such a high pick.

It looks like everyone pretty much agrees (within a spot or two) the top 8 or 9 in the draft.

The 10th varies quite a bit. This will be the thread I check to see who scored the highest. LOL

1 pt if they pick a player in the top 10.

1 extra point if you hit the exact spot they are drafted.

And no idea how to gives points to Big EV for his trade proposals. Sufficed to say if it comes true, you my friend are picking my Lotto #'s.

Just ant FYi, Huberdeau is predominately a LW. I beleive he hasn't played C ina long while.

Is this directed at my 2011 Draft Class Hierarchy rankings where I have Huberdeau as a "Center"? If so, I am aware of the fact that he plays LW predominately but I kept with the position eligibility that the NHL Central Scouting assigned to each player. For whatever reason, Central Scouting has him listed as a center.

No I didn't even notice that in your hierarchhy. Another poster put Huberdeau - 2nd line centre, so that's why I brought it up.

Even the Q has him listed as a centre for every single game but he takes like 1 or 2 faceoffs.

I guess he COULD end up being a centre but if he plays wing mostly he should play wing in the NHL as well.

Once we get closer to the draft this will be more set but for now it looks like this.

How I think the draft will go:
    Edmonton- Ryan Nugent-Hopkins
    Colorado- Gabriel Landeskog
    Florida- Sean Couturier
    New Jersey- Adam Larsson
    New York- Jonathan Huberdeau
    Ottawa- Dougie Hamilton
    Atlanta- Mika Zibanejad
    Columbus- Ryan Murphy
    Boston- Ryan Strome
    Minnesota- Joel Armia

If I was drafting this is how it would go:
    Edmonton- Sean Couturier
    Colorado- Adam Larsson
    Florida- Ryan Nugent-Hopkins
    New Jersey- Ryan Murphy
    New York- Dougie Hamilton
    Ottawa- Jonathan Huberdeau
    Atlanta- Ryan Strome
    Columbus- Duncan Siemens
    Boston- Brandon Saad
    Minnesota- Joel Armia
Straight Points keeper league. Keep 5 Forwards,3 defence,1 goalie.

F: Nicklas Backstrom, Joe Thornton, Henrik Zetterberg, Zach Parise, Logan Couture

D: Erik Karlsson, Alex Pietrangelo, Oliver Ekman-Larsson

    G: Sergei Bobrovsky
