I hope to god someone else picks him then because I've been trying to shop Howard to all the unsuspecting people who do not read up on trade news or this wonderful site. As to keeping informed Letnry, if someone else puts in a waiver claim in 2 hours or so, will they make an update as soon as the right people are notified or do we have to wait until tomorrow to find out if anyone else put in a claim? Everything else then I assume is rumoured to be true.

I believe Saturday at noon is when the process ends and we will know where Nabokov is going by then, stay tuned.

Originally in McKenzie's tweet it said that if a team claimed Nabokov they had to send him to Detroit before waiving or trading him. So I guess the suspicion was that NJ would put a waiver in for Nabby, then send him to Detroit in hopes that Detroit does something nice in the future. Not sure if that still is true considering that tweet was deleted.

Okay. NJ cannot trade Nabby IF they pick him up. He will have a NMC. IF he waives it, then they would need to put him through waivers to be able to trade him. In that case if no other team had put in a waiver claim during this round then Detroit has firt priority on him. IF more than one team put in a waiver claim for him then he goes onto waivers and any team can then claim him based on a waiver priority list that follows reverse order of winning percentage.

Also, NJ has said they will not be making a claim for him so this is all moot.
Whoever claims him will want him so in my opinion, Nabby has very little chance of becoming a Red Wing

Gotta wonder if the Flyers submit a claim. Boucher and Bob are doing fine but heading into a playoff run with those 2 scares me. For a $250,000 investment I think the Flyers would be crazy not to put in a claim.

I do believe that Detroit is lower than Philly on the waiver wire status, so The Flyers won't get a chance to.

First off all 29 teams get a crack at him before detroit gets him but I highly doubt the flyers will place a claim on him. I'm pretty sure the flyers gm feels pretty good about his goaltending right now and why shouldn't he. Bob and boucher have been amazing this season.

I do believe you're incorrect BMD. Just double checked Bob McKenzie's tweets.

Det puts in the offer. If noone takes, then Kenny Holland wins.

If Det puts in the offer, all teams have a crack and put in their bids.

As of tomorrow at noon, the team who is LOWEST in the standings gets him, excluding all of these wonky NMC clauses, of course.

BMD is right. Detroit can't put in a waiver claim since they are the ones who placed him on waivers.

What about Chicago? Anyone think that Chicago would take a chance on him? Crawford has been pretty good, but I wouldn't exactly call Turco good insurance.

For those interested, Bob McKenzie does a very good job of breaking down the ins and outs of the Nabokov waiver situation.

yeah.. odds are he goes to isles or one of the other bottom dwellers. I picked him up hoping there would be some way that he could make it to the wings...

I'm surprised it is so quite . I figured there would be tonnes of speculation on where he ends up....
