Default Replace Stastny - Marleau, Arnott or Carter?

In my league, we have 2 C and a Util position. I have crosby, stastny and mike richards in those positions.

with stasty out, i have to have someone fill in the gaps. My league counts a lot of stats, fw included (roto) and so I don\'t want to move richards to the C slot and start someone else in the Util.

I picked up marleau last week on waivers. I am considering using him, but the reality is he sucks, and I picked him up to sit on my bench in case he breaks out of his slump. I am uncomfortable with starting him steadily for the next 3 weeks or so.

On the waiver wire in my league are Jason Arnott and Jeff Carter. Are they better options than Marleau?

Jeff Carter gets my vote there!

Any particular reason, sharpie? Yahoo currently has him ranked 50 spots behind Arnott. Carter has been hot lately, do you think it will continue?

I would say Arnott. He has been steady and reliable all season. The other option is to stream the C position for the next few weeks as long as there is no max moves limit in your league.

Arnott is under rated in fantasy circles. He always gets lots of shots and gets decent PP minutes. Jeff Carter isn\'t in a good spot this season and Marleau may catch fire over the second half, but he doesn\'t normally put up great fantasy numbers other than points.

Arnott by a hair. More ice, more pts.

That is with the assumption this is a move designed towards this season.

Long term I like Carter. But for this year and next, Arnott is the better option.

Yeah, it would just be until stastny comes back.

unfortunately, arnott was scooped by someone with higher waiver priority than me at the last minute, so it looks like it\'s going to be Carter over Marleau, and I made the move this morning. Sigh. Thanks for the help guys.

No need to sigh, enjoy the hot streak while it lasts, he\'s hot right now.

And at least in Philly on the third line you got Upshall and Knuble to go along w/ Carter. Not like he is flanked by zeroes. Plus he gets pp2 clock.

If Foppa returns everything shifts even more, meaning another talented guy winds up on line 3 due to #\'s crunch. More help for Carter.

Is it just me or does anyone else not see Forsberg returning this year. I just have a feeling it won\'t happen and even if it does he will do what he did in Nashville and be so in and out of the line up that there is no chemistry.
