Pitkanen hands down, he's the PP quarterback in Carolina while Carlson is second fiddle to Mike Green. Also Pitkanen had 46 points last year!
Carlson
Pitkanen
Posted this earlier, but need more feedback! Gotta cut either Carlson or Pitkanen. Carlson's stats: 3G, 12A, +6, 32PIM. Pitkanen's stats: 2G, 16A, +8, 28PIM. Pretty dang close! So who's the guy I want to keep??
Thanks!

More valuable?... in a keeper league, id say Carlson. The fact that he plays for the Capitals makes some people drool all over themselves..and rightfully so. Even with Mike Green, there are a ton of points available for him on that team. He also plays a more well rounded game than Green, which will probably mean more minutes once he develops his game more.
Pitkanen might post better stats than him this year however.
oops..didnt see your team sig... one year league, id go with Pitkanen.

Carlson hasn't had a single PPP since like mid-October. There are way better options than him.
Obviously we are talking about this year since we are in the One Year League forum.
i am not sure its as clear cut as one might think. same basic numbers two completely different situations and teams....yet same basic numbers. second fiddle to mike green on a team that is in a major funk with comparable numbers to the PP QB on a ho-hum, steady as she goes team....yet same basic numbers. i may lean towards carlson on this one, as the teams returns to the Capitals we all know, carlson may just out point pitkanen this year. i think its a toss up and a win-win regardless of who you choose. funny because i voted pitkanen and as i started my reply my mind switched gears.

Keep in mind that 12 of Carlson's PIM came in one game. As well, 6 of his 15 points came in the first 5 games leaving him with 9 points in 30 games after that. However, I think (and hope) that Washington will explode soon and Carlson will be a part of that so it is close for me.
I'm going Pitkanen but it is really close. I wouldn't be suprised to see Carlson come out on top this year. Pitkanen may be the PPQB right now but McBain is coming up fast and already stealing some PP time.
In a keeper it would be Carlson no question.

I like Pitkanen here
hes more consistent, and less likely to go through funks, like Carlson

Big fan of Pitkanen here. I would just be repeating what others have already said if I went into detail, so I will just say Pitkanen all the way. Hands down.
Yep Pitkanen is the easy choice this year.
Pits this year for sure Carlson the rest of the way.
Thanks for the votes and replies. I'm a Caps fan and hate to dump Carlson, but I might just do that. It's not a keeper league. If it was, I'd take Carlson hands down.

Been trying to trade him, but no takers yet. But I need a roster spot for Hossa coming off IR, so it would have to be a 2-for-1. I am trying to package him and Hejduk for St. Louis. But I'm sure that's not giving up enough.
