    Default Too much/little for Stamkos?

My team and league stats are in my sig.

I'm currently leading my league and way ahead in goals and ppp, but lagging in assists, PIM, shp (really far behind in this cat) and hits. My goalie stats are in the top 3 for each cat....but i have several people very close to me too. So I was thinking of trading Stamkos for one of the following offers but needed advice if it's even worth trading him, or if i'm not getting enough back for him (or if i'm getting a steal). This is what i have for possible trades:

    A:
    Stamkos and Neuvirth
    for
    Backstrom (the center) and Quick

    B:
    Stamkos and Carlson
    for
    Malkin and Lidstrom

C (this was an offer I was thinking of putting together):

    Stamkos, Franzen, Carlson
    for
    Malkin, Perry, Lidstrom

    C: E.Staal, Tavares
    W: D.Sedin, Marleau, Backes, Semin,
    D: Boyle, Keith, Yandle, Wideman
    Goalies: Rinne, Smith, Hiller
    Bench: Brown, Giordano, Green (IR)

The only deal that's even within the realm of being worth it is that last deal...first two are very weak and even more so when you already have soli defense depth and goaltending..Stamkos alone is worth two 75-85 point guys to give you some grasp on his value and realistically I think your forwards for an 11 man league are deep enough to where it doesn't even warrant you trading him at all....if you do want to trade him then you need much more than that think something like Toews and Marleau...Stastny and Kane...M. Richards and Carter..B. Richards and Eriksson etc..as a worthwhile return for Stamkos just straight up to give you a better grasp on the type of return you should be looking for

Just so you know what Stamkos is worth... I traded him straight up for Ovechkin.

Only assuming Malkin plays tonight and has no other health concerns, take option C. The rest of them are not in your favor.

    Great.

Thanks for the advice guys. People keep telling me he's worth alot, but i guess I keep underestimating his worth.

Ok, none of those trades from above panned out. I declined the first two and didn't go for option C.

However, someone in my league got back to me over what he wanted for Ovechkin. I'm on the fence a bit on this one. It seems good in some aspects, but poor in other aspects.

    I give:

    Stamkos and Heatley

    I get:

    Ovie and Zetterberg

At first I like it because of the shots and hits ovie gets, which i do need to some degree. Also, I think, overall the point totals, ppp and PIM should be roughly the same with me maybe getting a few more assists and less goals out of this deal (which is fine as I'm way ahead in goals and PPP already). I really really do need some shp as i'm last in the league in this cat and I think the combo of ovie and zetterberg are more likely to get me at least a few more shp, which is what I think sways this deal for me.

What do you think?? I thought of offering another winger instead of heaters, but I don't think he'll go for it since there's a big drop off from heately to franzen or neal.

The guy offering the trade also has Kopitar which was another possible option instead of Zetterberg.

i think it's largely a lateral move...and I know OV left the game yesterday after taking a slapshot to the leg so i'd check in on that before doing anything but i'd go ahead and take the Ovechkin Zetterberg side and expect them not a massive but a modest to decent upgrade overall assuming 1c and LW for 2 LW will be utilized appropriatly amongst the rest of your roster

Edit: yea looking at your roster in your sig...can you switch zetterberg for a center instead as you'd get more value that way since losing stamkos leaving you very thin at C

Another edit: yea Kopitar and Ovechkin would be ideal and better for than getting Zetterberg...do that

I thought it would be a slight upgrade as well, especially to hits and shp.

But Zetterberg has center eligibility (just double-checked) which is why i thought this trade worked since it's a center and LW for a center (Zetterberg) and LW.

There you go then both wll fall in the 80-85 range...I rather have kopitar if possible since he is the bit more durable one of the two...but solid deal either way with Zetterberg having C eligibility...what C are available on the wire

Not many good C's on the wire. The best would probably include:
    Tavares
    Zajac
    Krejci
    Weiss
    Staal
    Ribeiro
    Couture
