Well I think you've just discovered the best way to earn rep. Anyone who ever asks questions or complains about rep always seems to draw others to boost them. Yours just went up as we speak. This is a good thing though. I think taking an active interest in the forum is great and should be rewarded. If you care about how rep works or you care about what your rep status is then it means you care about these forums and are actively contributing. Kudos to you for showing said interest.
