    Default Kipper for Kesler?

    What do you think?

Kesler = valuable across the board contributor

Kipper = extra W's and SHO's that'll help keep me maintain my lead in W's, tie for first in SHO's and maintain a decent SV%. I feel Calgary as a team will be inconsistent all season.

We only count 3 goalie cats so offensive cats carry weight and Kesler gives me all the offensive cats I need. Plus, I own Luongo and the WSH tandem so my goaltending won't suffer than much if I don't have Kipper.

The guy giving up Kesler has Rinne, Theodore and the Khabi so he needs help.

With your goalies you really don't need Kipper. I like this swap.

Thanks guys. The trade was only officially proposed yesterday. I accepted. By getting Kesler I was going to ship out Zajac for someone else but he seems to be picking it up a bit lately and surprisingly I don't have many game conflicts with all my C. For me, my dealing of Kipper more reflects my opinion of the team in front of him than of his abilities as a goalie.

Kesler is a good across-the-board contributor Yardie, so I can't fault you for this one.

I think this is a good move for you, but only because there are no max games in this setup. With goalie cats of W, SV%, SO, and 2 roster spots for goalies, I'd suspect that you'd need 2.5 full-time starters in a setup with max GP in order to get all your goalie GP in. But since you don't need to worry about that, as long as you can get the extra starts out of Kesler, you're good.

For my own comfort, I'd like to see you with another starter though... I think 3 is the magic number lest you fall behind too far in W and SO.

I agree that it would be ideal to add another goalie. The lack of any wire options made this deal more risky.

It's a weak crop with only Raycroft/Bachman, Biron, Hedberg, the Isle goalies, Boucher, C. Mason, Schneider, Osgood, Smith and Budaj available.

These guys would destroy my SV%

My plan is likely to monitor the league for injuries (e.g. Lehts not bouncing back from injury) or trades (e.g. Boucher to somewhere where he'll see some starts) and pick a guy up whose subsequent increase in starts - and hopefully W's would make a potential hit in SV% easier to take.

Do it, Kipper is on the downside of his career on a bad team, while the opposite is true of Kesler. Your G situation is fine with Luongo and the WAS tandem, plenty of Ws there.
