Default Help with a trade offer please.

I was just offered Doughty and Bobrovsky for Kopitar and Rinne. I'm not really considerign taking the deal, but I'd like to know how fair it is, or how much more I should be asking if it isn't fair.

I like Pekka, but Philly is an undeniably better team than Nashville, and I own Leighton, just in case.

    Thoughts?

I like Rinne a lot more than Bob but Doughty is an upgrade over Kopitar. You only keep 4 by the looks of it so your keepers would be:

Kopitar, Green, Rinne, Parise vs Zetterberg/Parise, Green, Doughty, Fleury

Is Doughty an upgrade? Because he hasn't scored a point in his last 8 games, which scares me. I could probably just trade one for one, Kopitar for Doughty...

Doughty's off to a rough start but I think he'll turn it around. Kopitar will be a 85-90 point center (could approach/hit 100 with some top end linemates) whereas I can see Doughty becoming a 65-70 point d-man in the future.

So I guess it's up to you. I'd rather have Doughty than Kopitar but you already have Green so it's not like you need another stud D.

considering that Doughty could put up 60+ points as a D man and Kopitar 80 as a forward I would also consider him an upgrade over kopiatr mind you he having down year so I think I would try to pay less up front for him like Zetts + maybe?? or Zetts + the goalie swap?

I like Doughty and Kopitar about equally. The key to this deal is that Rinne is out for possibley 4-6 weeks and Bobrovsky is playing well for a really good team. Do you want to win this year? Will Bobrovsky help you win? Neither Bobrovsky nor Rinne are keepers in your format, so why not go with Bob?

Yeah I was thinking that as well, with his injury. We just have a format change as well letting me keep any 4 players, doesn't have to be a goalie. So I might keep 4 skaters instead. Goalies are so inconsistant year to year that I could easily spend my top 2 picks on goalies, and compete just the same.

I am wondering if Rinne should really be one of your keepers. I would ponder keeping him at all. Maybe your keepers are Kopitar, Zetterberg, Green and Parise.

I don't do this deal. Instead I would be trying at some point to get a keeper on Wing, as I bet after the keepers are selected, a good winger is much harder to come by. You play fewer centers, and I am guessing the situation is not nearly as bad there.

Do you have the ability to get a short term replacement for Rinne?

I don't really need a replacement for him at the moment. Only need 4 weekly starts and Fleury and Pavelec are getting those easily.

The only reason it's even being considered, is because with only a ten team league, free agent talent is generally pretty deep at centre and wing. With D, the best available is Robidas, which is nothing to drool over.

Yeah, ran into that problem before with these types of leagues.

So in that case you switch up a very good C keeper for a great D keeper.

Losing Rinne doesn't hurt as much, but he should be back in 4 weeks. Leighton will be back in 2 weeks or less. If you think you can deal with Bobrovsky sharing starts, then pull the trigger = )

In the end I think Kopitar is replaceable and Doughty not so much - I would probably do this and if the right deal came along to peddle either Green or Doughty for an elite winger I would think about that.

The Shoeless seal of approval is really all I need. I'm probably going to do it and dangle one of my D for a forward. Thanks.

LOL - well you know I thought about it for a long time because I am a real Kopitar fan - I think the best has yet to come for him - but in the last couple of seasons I have drifted to placing a priority on better D guys in my leagues and it really is making a difference. I honestly wonder if you would get Doughty nearly this cheap in the future.
