Filatov, I have mixed feelings after reading this

First off, he sounds sincere when he says that he understands the coach's decision and seemingly agrees with Arniel (though what else could he really say?).

But then later in the article he says this:

"Obviously, I don't want to go away from here," Filatov said. "But until the point where something bad happens, I'm not even going to think about it."

I wish he would have instead said something like "I am not going back to Russia". This makes it sound like he very much would consider leaving again if his situation with the team got worse. Not very encouraging for us Filatov owners.

I picked up Filatov as a throw in on a trade I made this year. He does not strike me as a Radulov stunt-double. If he did go back to Russia, I think he would work a loan deal out with the team and come back again, just as he did last year. He appears to have a genuine interest to remain in North America. Still, he does not belong on a 4th line, but until he pops a few, that is where he will be stuck for awhile.

Just a feeling that the BJ's won't do that again. If he leaves, he's gone.

I think they would trade him before that happens again. The NHL shouldn't be his sloppy seconds.

I just got offered Filatov for my Gionta. G has been playing pretty well lately, but I don't know if I should take a chance on Filatov or not.

I wouldn't bother. He won't be one of your 8 keepers by the end of the season and Gionta will surely out produce him this season. Filatov will be a healthy scratch quite a bit more, even though he did get back into the lineup yesterday. But even when in the lineup, 12-14 mins of ice time isn't enough for him to do much.
