Babchuk hasn't produced at all since he was traded to the Flames and now he is my worst d-man. I'm wondering if I should drop him for Foster, Colaiacovo or Bieksa?

I would drop him for CC he is seeing less playing time in CGY and less PP time too!

I'll second that. I'd rather a player on a team with upside than a player on a team struggling to find themselves.

I think it's too soon to bail on Babchuk. As has been pointed out by others here, Babchuk's point shot on the PP hasn't really been tried yet, and when it is, they might keep him there.

I like JD88's recommendation of Carlo Colaiacovo though. He's better than Foster or Bieksa.

BOuwmeester is weak enough as a PP defenseman and Giordano somewhat mediocre anough to where 6'5" skilled Babchuk could find his groove up there over the course of the year and become a serious PP option...Colaiacovo is more vulnerable to Johnson picking it up than Babchuk threatened too much by his competition...I was actually thinking on my own end of selling high on Karlsson and Shattenkirk and over-paying for Edler then adding Babchuk as my bench D and rolling Boyle Weber Edler Giordano each week with Babchuk on the bench for security/mine for later season breakout...i'd monitor him and CC closely for another few games before I jumped ship

I'd hold off for a bit longer, considering the competition (as MT319 said) on the blue-line in Calgary. He may be cold now, but then again, so is the whole team. I say give him a chance for the next couple of weeks and then reassess.
