I'd take Shattenkirk.
He's one of the slickest skaters out there.
But really, either one is a great option over Vermette for sure.
Team and scoring is in the sig.
Short question is that I'm 1st place in the league by a pretty wide margin (.692 win % and the next guy's got .530-something), but I'm always looking to improve the team for next year. The weakest link on my team seems to be Vermette.
With that in mind, both Fowler and Shattenkirk are on the WW, and both seem to be, if not a full-out upgrade for this year, a sidegrade at worst, and both with more long-term (as in, multi-year) upside than Vermette is ever going to have.
So, which one would the collective wisdom of DobberHockey recommend dropping Vermette for, if either?

I would take Shattenkirk as well I grabbed him when Karlsson was was a "injured" and liked what I saw from him. I amy release Gior and pick him up for the rest of the season
shattenkirks offensive upside looks to be better than fowlers. so, my vote goes to shatty as well.

I was going to make a suggestion but Sin Bin's AV made me forget what I wanted to say...
Okay, now that my jaw is off the floor and I've had time to gain my composure, I would take Shattenkirk, seems to be more offensively inclined than Fowler with more natural talent.
Also, is this for the team in your sig? If so, I would still make the move but I would try to move one of your D. Given your categories (Blocks in particular), carrying a 4th D makes sense, but carrying a 5th might be a bit much.
Without me, it's only "aweso".
It is indeed for the team in my sig. I'm curious, though...who would you drop out of those 4 D-men? Whitney seems to be the obvious choice, but I may be gaining more from keeping Whitney, picking up the Shat, and dropping Vermette than by dropping Whitney and picking up Shattenkirk.

I don't think any of them should be dropped, I would try to package Whitney with a forward to land an upgrade at the forward position. If it were me I would look at moving a RW. A combo of Bourque or Havlat with Whitney could probably net you a decent return

Im just assuming this is a temporary move, right? As u will have to cut players for Okposo and/or Mueller when they return.
