    If Jason Pominville (concussion) passed his neurological-psychological tests, he might play today.

    Pominville is still awaiting for the results of his latest examination after failing part of the same tests on Tuesday. He needs to pass all of it before he can be cleared for contact. "I've been skating pretty hard," Pominville said. "I did what I could to get myself as best prepared as possible, but there's no better way than playing games to get into that game shape. Once I get out there in game situations, it'll be a different thing than riding the bike."

    Jason Pominville (concussion) will not play on Friday.

    Pominville has failed another neurological-psychological examination, which will prevent him from returning to the Sabres' lineup. He has been practicing with the Sabres and reportedly isn't experiencing any lingering effects from the concussion, but he needs to pass this examination before being cleared for contact. He's also failed the test on Tuesday. The Sabres are in Atlanta, but Pominville has been sent back to Buffalo to be looked at by the team's doctors.

    Just heard on NHL Live that he has failed his second neurological-psych test and that he will have to take another one sometime next week. The guys on the show got the info from somewhere...I can't remember where they said they got the info, but these guys are well informed.

    It's sounds Pomminville (in his own words) might just not be bright enough to pass the thing. Anyone know if they have a baseline test of these things?

    from my understanding the baseline test pominville set early in his career is really high. so now he is struggling to repeat that high score

    This doesn't really offer any new info on Pominville, but it is an interesting little piece on baseline testing in the NHL. It compares Pominville's experience to Dumont's experience last year. Franzen also gives some interesting quotes.

    I thought it was a good read and offered some insight on something I didn't know too much about.

    This page says Pominville has been cleared to return. It doesn't mention anything about the baseline test though. If I find anything further, I'll update on here.

    It does say that he will play on Wednesday.
