I'm in.
Definitely a no to Hits. Such a grey area stat (some arenas definition of a hit is just too generous/strict).
I'm in! Finally a chance to redeem myself from last years performance. I'm going to bring it this time. Bring it big time, ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH
I totally disagree, blocked shots show 10 times the 'grit' that PIM do. Its a case of sacrificing your body to prevent a scoring chance. I find that BkS actually correspond.pretty accurately to reality. Hits i think are scored a little less consistently but the distribution in numbers between the lady byng types and the bruisers is fairly accurate IMO
I don't like hits or blocked shots, but if I had to choose one it would be hits for sure. Blocked shots are ok but it doesn't show you somebody's true defensive value...some guys with high blocked shots aren't the greatest defensemen.
I confirm you scallywag

I think PIM's suck too, but that's another story.
Why is the word "reality" thrown around so much when the title of the activity is FANTASY hockey? Isnt that an oxymoron? I'm not trying to be a real GM here. I just wanna see how many of the top 25 scorers in the league I can draft on my team. I don't care if a guy blocks shots or sits in the penalty box. It's stupid and isn't representative of actual offensive talent, which is what this is all about. If I wanna act like a real GM, i'll go get a job as a real GM.
It just frustrates me when people include the word "reality" or "real life value" in fantasy sports.
any spots left for me ?
Hey here is some Pirate lingo

I vote no hits and blocks. The categories are crowded as is.
Whoa hits blocks? Definitely no! I thought the cats worked out just fine last year. All I would change would be to remove "points" and keep G/A
So:
G,A, +-, PIMS, PPP, SG, W, GAA, SV%, SO Nice, clean 10 cats. Add in SHP and GWG if absolutely needed.
I also think the depth worked pretty well last year. We went to 3C, 3LW, 3RW, 4D, 2 UTLY 2 G, 2 IR, 5 BN

I'm the best! Dutch is the Worst.
NYR it totally depends on how many teams we have. If we hit 14, I think it may be wise to go 2LW, 2RW, 2 C, 4d, 2 Utility, 2IR, 2 Goalie, 4 BN.

As it currently stands, our rosters break down like this:
12 teams x 22 roster spots = 264 total players taken
Under that proposal, the league rosters breakdown to:
14 teams x 18 roster spots = 252 total players taken
Not a huge difference.
Why is it such a big deal to get more bang for your buck by keeping 12 teams, but just tweaking the roster size? Picking up people like David Moss or Sergei Samsonov is boring. Plus, the more crappy 3rd/4th liners you have on your roster, the less likely deals are going to get done. Under my proposal, we would have 216 total players taken. Those 36 extra players available to everyone will just make it more fun, imo.
