You guys are adults, there should never ( never say never) but should not be a trade vote process in any leauge IMO. Trust each other. Guys should police themselves.
I have a small league of 8 to 10 owners at CBS sports. I would like to implement a trading voting process again. Last season we had one in place. Here's how it worked:
1. Trade goes to me the commissioner.
2. Everyone besides the trade participants get a full 24 hours(next day) to vote. Votes are sent to me with an explanation of their vote.
3. 5 votes of no nullify a trade.( I believe that's a little high and should be 4 of the reamaining 6)
Problem is not everyone voted last season. I'm thinking of penalizing those that do not vote by taking away their add/drops and new IR moves for the up coming scoring period.
One owner suggests that keeping a voting process will only cause owners to c#$k block each other and should be eliminated. I feel a stop gap measure of some kind should be in place to prevent terribly one sided trades.
Any suggestions and ideas would be appreciated.

I agree there should never be a trade vote. Bad trades are supposed to happen, they happen in the NHL all the time. I traded stamkos straight up for dats before stamkos had his break out. It looked like a bad trade but a year later not so bad. I traded the 1 st rnd pick and 2nd pick so Taylor and Tyler for price and kulikov. Trades should be policed by everyone the league, if trades keep happening between two owners then step in.
This was typed from my phone sorry for the spelling mistakes.
I think the only way you can veto a trade (98% of the time) is if you think the two people are cheating. The great thing about fantasy Hockey is you get to run your team any which way you want. Bad trades are going to happen in every league and its up to the GM to make smart and sound choices for the future of the team. So maybe?? you have to have 4 people Veto a trade then maybe the 2 GM's should explain how the trade/players makes sense for their team and ADMIN can decide if its legit or not??? if 3 vetos or less you just have to let the trade go through. As a side note (be careful) I don't think I'd enjoy a Fantasy league that would make me jump through hoops to pull off a simple trade.best of luck

I agree with the above, in no league that I've participated has such a thing been necessary. The few trades that have been overturned over the years have been so ridiculous that everyone backed the comish each time, but for the most part good and bad trades is what makes the process interesting. Usually the owners suffer enough from their own stupidity or reap the benefits of their cleverness.

Also if I'm in first and the guy in 2nd wants to make a trade to catch Me I would be vetoing it and the guy in third prolly will as well if it going to be tougher to catch up to him. Also don't think taking away a guys draft pick cause he dose not vote is the right way. Two thing could happen with this. Just votes whatever so he dosnt lose his pick. 2nd if u start pulling peoples picks cause there not sure how they want to vote your league could end up falling apart or a lot of angry gms.
