With Arnott gone in Nashville, what do you expect from Wilson a) next year? b) in his prime?

Wilson is awesome, I think he is going to be a stud in his prime.

70-90?? Why not just say 0-100? I don't think Wilson will ever come near 90. I think he tops out at 75 max.

I can't help but feel that Nashville has positioned themselves to potentially pick up a free agent. $4.5M to Arnott or $5.0M to Plekanec? Plekky is definitely more risk, but age is a significant factor in the discussion. Arnott is still a solid player, but when does his overall impact start to slip?

Wilson. Wondering about the high numbers is reasonable enough. 50 would be great this coming season though. One step at a time, and then make your next projection based on his accomplishments. The potential for impact is large, however there have been many others in a similar position over the years that have not blossomed to the top points windows.

I have to agree with JHM. Dont be surprised if they bring in a winger. Carter is another possibility if Philly decides to move him.

I dont see him up around that 90 pt potential... He could have a few years like that but I would expect 72-78 as the norm for him.

I think JHM nailed it. It's nice to wonder if he can hit those high numbers, but until I see more of him I'm not prepared to move his window higher than about 70-75.

You never know though: he might develop a lot better than that.

I think 75 max out of him. He's good, but not 80+ good. Next year, 50+.

I agree with the 60 to 70 crowd. I think we have a tendency to overestimate potential. Taking a quick look at NHL scoring leaders over the last few years, since the lookout you have anywhere from 7 to 14 (first year out of the lock out) players breaking 90 points in any given year. So to me, saying that Colin Wilson has 90 point potential is saying that he has the potential to be in the top 10 in scoring, which to me is a stretch.

Sorry, but i'm tired of seeing everone projecting 50+ points for every rookie with any skill that is entering the league. Wilson will not post over 50 next season. Expect 40-45. I see him developing similar to how Oshie has in STL. The only way he posts 50+ is if he's tossed on the first line and given 20 mins a game (a la Tavares). In the future, I agree with what everyone else is saying: Low-70's
