Will Price Be Traded?

How can anyone vote for staying in Mtl when it says he'd take a hometown discount. Why would he take a discount to be a backup and have the fans boo him every time he lets in a goal. The only scenario I can see Price staying in Mtl is if Halak prices himself out of Mtl's plans and they are forced too move him and keep Price. BUT I think he's good as gone.

Man, I never thought about SJ before. Not sure why but that would open some BIG cap space for them by not re-signing Nabokov. What would they trade though?? Rights to Marleau (with a chance to talk to him so they know that he'll sign) and a pick or a prospect? Marleau would be a fantastic addition to MTL, IMO. While he doesn't play an overly physical game he brings in some size that they are sorely lacking. Saving that 3 mil in cap space would allow SJ to give Pav his raise and sign a solid shutdown dman (Willie Mitchell?) for a decent price.

My personal goalie predictions:

SJ - resigns Nabokov
MON - signs Halak (~$4m or $5m per year)
PHI - signs C.Mason (~$3m per year... PHI has limited cap space)
STL - signs C.Price (~$3m per year... great fit with a group of young guys)

*And my reason for Mason, rather than Price, in PHI is the pressure. Price needs to sign in a lower-pressure environment. Those few years in the high-pressure hockey-crazy city like Montreal can not possibly be good for a young goalie.

May I suggest becomming a Flyers fan. Habs and Flyers are my two favorite teams... good combo. And only about a 7 1/2 drive from Montreal to Philly... so trips to the Wachovia (soon to be Wells Fargo) Center await!
