Russell is by far your best bet. Gilbert is next. Greene\'s upside isn\'t all THAT high, but he is more of a certainty.

I am trying to get the best D-men available. I just want to have input on how much of a boom/bust they are;
Andrej Sekera BUF
Brendan Smith DET
Tom Gilbert EDM
Andy Greene NJ
Kris Russell CLB
Also, which one you think is going to have the most immediate offensive impact?

What about Matt Green on WSH?...i dono about your pools but noone knows about him in mine which is good for me (picked him up right before he started producing like he should be)...but yeah russel is showing the most promise for this year and future...although gilbert is very offensively talented.

Yes, I agree about Mike Green in WSH. He is another available one that I could pick next year. Then I guess my pick order should be this one;
1- Kris Russell CLB
2- Tom Gilbert EDM
3- Mike Green WSH
4- Andy Greene NJ
5- Andrej Sekera BUF
6- Brendan Smith DET
Thanks again for bringing him up! It\'s easy to forget the good available prospects.
In that case Id put him atleast 2nd on your list maybe even 1st...hes a stud so far this season as far as ice time and production goes...and as dobber pointed out in another thread...watch out for washington...the offense begins now...

Hanlon liked to keep the young guy\'s down but he\'s gone now and the Caps youth will be given every chance to strut their stuff under Boudreau
I like Russel down the road but the future is now for Green and he has taken over the top spot on WSH PP and scored both his goals there this past weekend.
He\'s also on pace for 17 goals this season. Not too shabby.

Sekera is a great player. I\'d say at worst, he\'s a 20% to bust, but he\'s almost a certainty to make the NHL and be at least a 30 point producer.
Brendan Smith is a little more far off. I\'d say he needs to round out his game on his own end, but he\'s too skilled to let that keep him back. A 40% chance, I\'d say. he\'s going to be a good one, excellent ofensive skills. When he hits the next he\'ll eventually put up 45+ point seasons.
Tom Gilbert....I haven\'t seen much of him. He seems pro-ready, but I don\'t know about his offensive tools, especially considering te depth in the Oilers\' org. If he gets a chance, 30 points. I don\'t know if he\'ll get more than that.
Andy greene. Solid kid. Jersey doesn\'t have anyone out back anymore, so if he comes into his own, expect 35-45. He\'s already here.
Kris Russell is great. I missed the boat on him in my fantasy draft this year(instead choosing Eric Fehr), and I\'ve been kicking myself ever since. He\'s not too big obviously, but he\'s got skills, and he\'s rounding out his game. The BJs don\'t have much offense on the backend so he\'ll be their star for years.
Most immediate? Greene, likely. Followed by Russell, simply ebcause I think Russell will take an extra half year than Greene to start producing decently.
Gilbert could surprise if there\'s enough injury.
