Moving Quick

Owner in my league is interested in Quick.

His roster is

C- Thornton, Staal, Fisher, Bergeron, Frolik (C, RW)
RW - Erat, Vrbata
LW - Kovy, Moulson, Neal
D - Enstrom, White, MDZ, Carkner
G - Mason, Mason, Halak

I was thinking i need another C and was going to offer Quick and possibly Pev/Stoll for Thornton or Staal? Am i asking to much? What other offers would you suggest.

I think you are right to be targetting one of his centres, because he seems to have an abundance of them and you need some help there. I also think you could use an RW, and probably even more than a C, but I don't much like his RWs.

I think the 'idea' of trading Thornton for Quick sounds crazy, but when you look at the details it isn't so farfetched. Thornton may be leading the league in points and assists, but he isn't very helpful in many other categories, specifically G, GWG, and PIMs. Whereas Quick is one of the top goalies in the league this year, is getting tons of playing time and will help across the board in the goalie categories. Personally, I'd still give the edge to Thornton, but it certainly isn't a crazy trade offer. I'd start with that one and then counter with Staal, who is really turning it on lately and is not a bad step down (if at all) from Thornton.

Ok so i offered Quick for thornton and that was luaghed out. I countered with Quick for Staal and he countered with Quick + Markov for Staal + MDZ.
I don't like that deal at all as MDZ has done nothing for a while and markov is killing it. Is Quick and Penner for Staal overpaying?
