Elias for Briere???

What up all.

I just put out this trade in my keeper league (in sig) and wanted to get some feedback on it.

Straight up trade. I'm giving away D. Briere C, RW and I'm getting P. Elias C, LW.

I'm looking for more SOG and a better +/- as well, which I think I'll get out of Elias. They both have had their time on the IR in the past, but I have a bit more confidence in Elias to stay out, though I think that Briere has the higher offensive upside.

Thoughts?

I don't hate this deal but I don't really like it either. I think Elias is going to be the healthier of the two but as you said Briere has more offensive upside. I'm also not a huge fan of owning two LW from the same team, what saves grace here for you is Elias has C eligibility as well.

I can't really think up any reasons not to go for it but at the same time I can't think of any great reasons to go for it. Seems like mainly a push, where you lose some upside but you gain some dependability. I'd do it if you are feeling good about it.
