PIM's vs. Scoring - opinions

Just wondering what people's takes are on the value of PIM's.

In my league it's only 1 category and I am last in my league with PIM totals. Although my record in the PIM category is 2-2-1, I have debated grabbing some muscle to help bolster that aspect of my team.
Obviously if I Were to do that I would be giving up some scoring, as most of the guys who score AND get PIM's are gone.

Leading the way for me is Carkner in Ott, then Zonopka, maybe Downie, Maybe Shelley.

I dunno, I just don't know if I can bring myself to dropping a scorer for a goon.

What are peoples thoughts on this?

While PIM's are important, you have to factor in the hit on your other categories if you pick up a guy like Carkner. Basically, can you afford the drop in points and still maintain a lead in the other cats.
Carkner is a decent pickup in Yahoo at the moment because he is both RW and D eligible. That may help you get some extra games in.

You could also look into a trade.
