Overwhelmed! Who's worth more?

I've received two offers for St. Louis:

1. Letang
2. Duchene +

I'm looking to win in a few years. Given my roster, which of these three players is more valuable? I feel like Letang is a great pick-up, but is my defense good enough already?

I understand you are playing for the future, but I would want a more than Letang or Duchane for St. Louis. Don't undersell a current player as you look to the future. To a team wanting to win it now, you should be able to get a good haul. Dobber has St. Louis as the #24 best player right now.

If you're not going to be competing for a few years it makes sense to trade top assets like St. Louis, Visnovsky and maybe even Kaberle for TOP prospects and draft picks. Make sure you don't sell them cheaply, though. It might be better to hang on to them and then put them on the trade block midway through the season. You'll probably get more for them at that point.

I wouldn't trade St. Louis for Letang AND Duchene.

I'd take a look at the guy who has Letang's roster and try to put together something where you get Letang and another premium young asset. For two premium young assets and a high pick or two, I'd do the deal.

Then, I'd wait until Vis shows he can stay healthy for half a season and move him for a couple good young forwards, since you'll have 4 good young D.
