big trade...advice needed
I am in a points league (G, A, SHG, GWG, PIM, +/-, saves, SO, W, minus for L) & we keep one player from our roster for next year. I am currently in 3rd place out of nine teams and moving up. We start 4 forward lines, 3 D pairs and 2 goalies each week.
I have been offered Luongo, Ovechkin and Samsonov for Hossa (the good one), Backstrom (Minn. goalie) and P. Sykora.
We have a $60 million cap on our starting lineup. This is why I am reluctant to give up Backstrom (good/cheap). I already have Kipprusoff and keeping a lineup under the cap is tough. This deal will makke it tougher.
I also know for a fact that I could turn ovechkin into crosby straight up after this deal.
Do I make this deal or not?
Thanks, this forum and the dopper guide has me moving up to first fast. Any/all input is appreciated.

Definitely have to take this even if it will be hard to stay under the cap. You can always move these guys later on and get more in return than what you are giving up if you have to.

I would hold on to Ovechkin, I think this is his year and Crosby hasn\'t looked like anything special this year...

I just accepted the deal. It worked out nicely salary wise. Sykora was making a ton. I new it was a great deal but I just was very high Backstrom. Hopefully he\'ll come back to earth. His cheap salary gave me some flexibility. Hossa\'s groin injury scares me a bit too.

I wouldn\'t worry about it too much mate. You\'ve done well. It could be years before Backstrom makes a difference to someone\'s fantasy team.
It amazes me that you got AO and Luongo in one trade. Great job.

I think you did really well here. Ovechkin is a ticking bomb set to go off.
