A few notables off the list who could make a case: Kronwall, Keith, Suter, Bieksa, Letang, Doughty, EJ and Goligoski.

In the cases of Kronwall and Bieksa, I just have a feeling they will both lose man games to injury.

I think Barker outpoints Keith this season in Chi-town.

Suter will just miss the cut, due to improved (and full) seasons out of McCabe, Kaberle and Visnovsky.

As for the kids - Letang, Goligoski, EJ and Doughty will be scratching their way in. In fact, two of them may end up cracking the top 20 with a sledgehammer.

Keith has never been a big time scorer and had a very good year last yaer, Barker will steal some time away from him this season. With that said Campbell should fall a bit too.

One for me is Lubomir Visnovsky, he has 31 points in 50 games last season which would have pro-rated to 51 points, 11th overall for D-men. He has a good chance to better that this season.

Another out there one for me is Alex Edler. He's building momentum and could take a big step forward following his playoff performance from last season.

But similiarly to centers, from top 20-35 maybe even 40 you're really looking at 5 points difference. Definitely very hard to narrow it down to 20.
