Interesting idea and there is likely some truth to it, but the article as a whole had some serious flaws in it so it\'s tough to take it seriously.
Interesting article Richer. Thanks for that.
wow.. thats incredible.
edit:
just curious doulos... what flaws did you see? consider me naive here.
after reading this, it does make me a little more aware of the potentially grave relationship that came out in montreal between hamrlik, the kostitsyns, and the shady characters.
i know that the article mentions a documentary about this issue... but i think this is a tremendous, Absolutely TREMENDOUS basis for a full feature film.
Gangster/mob/mafia type movies have always intregued me... add sports to it, and i think you\'d have a huge hit (if it were done properly). It wouldn\'t even have to use real names... could be one of those \"based on true events\" sort of productions so that the director doesn\'t have to worry about coming home to a masacred family or anything...

yeah i mean... heck, i imagine there could at least be fictional books written \"based\" on the topic or something.the goodfellas meets slapshot! can\'t fail.
It\'s funny because \"the untouchables\" proved that you can have a good organized crime movie involving canadian mounties... I\'m sure adding hockey and russains is a reasonable next step haha.
In regards to the article... i had NO idea that many big name russain players had such close ties to organized crime figures...
Bure and Mogilny? wow.
