Some of you guys are digging too deep with Perreault and the other prospects. The players I have in this series will either have already played in the NHL full-time or had a cup of coffee. I\'ll let people repick if they want.

Great article, Angus!

I\'d be very interested to hear your thoughts on Steve Downie. I just picked him up as a throw-in in a trade, and the more I dig, the more I like:

[li]Lawton called him \"a key member of our core for years to come\" at the Lightning season-end Q&A.[/li]
[li]Rick Tocchet is probably as good a comparable as you can find for Downie, so maybe can teach him to be an effective pro without crossing the line.[/li]
[li]He\'s got hands! Three seasons with more than a point per game in junior.[/li]
[li]Had a bit of chemistry with Stamkos... a guy can dream...[/li][/ul]

Then again, he\'s one mistake away from never playing in the NHL again.

Hope I didn\'t spoil the surprise for another sleeper article...

Steve Downie is interesting - I hadn\'t thought of him originally. But he definitely does fit the bill.
