Hossa re-signing in Detroit would mean that large parts of the rest of the team would have to be dismantled. They were fine without him last year. It just doesn\'t work cap-wise to re-sign Hossa, especially not in 10/11 when the cap goes down.

Hudler - Zetterberg - Franzen was Detroit\'s most effective PP unit this year, so as long as he keeps playing with them I don\'t see his production slipping. He\'s also getting more and more ES ice time. With Hossa most likely moving on to another team in the offseason that probably means that Hudler will get a nice little raise in IT.

If he signs an offer sheet with another team or gets traded it\'s a bit more difficult to say what happens, but I think he can produce anywhere in the league.

I don\'t think he\'s going to ever really get any better than where he\'s at. Of course, since he\'s a complimentary player - it all depends on what line he ends up on. But he just doesn\'t have the size, speed, or endurance to be on the top 6 consistently. At least not with Babcock at the helm.
