Nice to see the team investing so many resources ($$$) into this avenue since Gillis took over. A great way to get a leg up on the competition, especially in a cap-restricted environment.

Everyone that is upset the Canucks did not bring in a player at the deadline and left all the extra salary cap money on the table should be paying attention to this deal. By leaving the extra money on the table the Canucks can sign these college players to a higher salary than what they are worth and have it count against the cap this year. Now they just need to find a way to get Matt Gilroy and Tyler Bozak with the same kind of contract.

not necessarily in this case - Walsky signed an entry level deal, so there is a maximum to what they can make.

Gilroy is the exception because he is considered 25 by CBA standards when he hits free agency this summer.

I\'m surprised this was announced already. Colorado College had a decent year and the Frozen Four tourney teams haven\'t been announced yet.

Obviously there is an error in the Canucks article as well. He didn\'t play in 06/07, as he was out due to transferring from Anchorage to Colorado College. So his stats listed as 06/07 are really, 07/08, and 07/08 listed stats are 08/09.

from what I have read: extremely fast skater, good offensive arsenal (both scorer and playmaker).
