    Default Zetterberg for Eric Staal

    Fellow GMs,

I\'ve got this deal in the works for my keeper league (G & A only)and have the opportunity to acquire C Eric Staal for LW Zetterberg straight up.
I need a top C and he needs a top LW.
Their career numbers are similar, except Staal did hit 100 pts and plays 82 games a year, while Zetterberg\'s numbers are great despite missing much time.
Any thoughts before I pull the trigger?

most will agree, LWs are the most difficult position to fill.

staal is about 4 years younger and is likely to rebound from his poor season. with zetterberg\'s back concerns, id probably do this trade as long as u can take the hit to your LW. u get a player thatll last 4 more years without the injury concern and your positional concerns fulfilled

This actually sounds like a win-win trade. Kovalchuk17 pointed out a couple of factors that come into play - LW is always more valuable just because of their position. Staal is younger and no question if you can hit 100 once it can easily happen again. Zetts injury issues need to be a concern - if he doesn\'t get injured again he could be dynamite and you might get more for him - but it seems to me that considering risk and need here - the deal is more than decent and I don\'t think you would regret it.

    Do it, don\'t look back.

Same ceilings, Staal has the cup ring and doesn\'t have the back problems.

Interesting question though -- Zetts is a natural C that got bumped to wing. Not sure how your league does positions, but maybe you could use that to get Zetterberg qualified as C/LW?

    Thanks for the feedback guys,

    To follow up:
Our league uses THN yearbook for player positions and Zetterberg is listed as LW.

It is a win-win as my LW is strong already with Daniel Sedin, while other GM has Crosby at C.

Also, Cullen\'s return to Carolina should be a benefit Staal.

I\'m going to do the deal - thanks.
