We keep 8 and 1 must be a D, so I still have Ryan Whitney as a backup...
I really don\'t know if I should pull this trade,Im looking at upgrading my team for a championship run, not entirely sure this actually helps my team...
Any suggestions...
The owner also has Datsyuk...hed probably want Bryz and Kopitar for him...

i think its worth it. While it will certainly hurt you with your D keeper Joe is a top 8 player and will perform that way from here on in. On a side note, keep Marleau, and Kopitar, you have a nice enough set of forwards to go for it next year for sure.

Hell yea! Jumbo Joe is a top 3 center, and top 5 player overall in the NHL who will really bolster your centers. Not to mention that he hasnt hit 30 yet. You can stand to lose Green because you\'ve got Whitney who will be scoring 60-65 points in the very near future.

I think Id pull the trigger on this deal no matter what the situation is. Green has been a bit injury prone over his 2 years to the top of the fantasy world.
Not sure what else to say, but you know what you\'ll get out of Thornton.

I am curious why this other GM would make this deal, and yet you think another GM would expect Kopitar and Bryzgalov for Datsyuk. Datsyuk is a fantastic player, but Thornton is a step above him. I think Mike Green is unbelievable, and while he has had some injuries, but he is the real deal, and I am assuming this GM really likes Green, but I would almost try to package Whitney and Michalek/Kostitsyn to get big Joe.

Mike Green on pace for 55 pts which seems about right considering the injuries he has sustained so far. If you pick a random guy of the wire you expect 35 pts.
Thornton on pace for 100. We know this is right because he does it every single year. No injury problems ever. Pick a guy of the wire and pray for 60 pts.
You have to make up 20 pts if you trade Green. You gain 40 if you pick up Joe. I like Joe here without question.
If you ride Joe for only a year can you trade him for a Green type defenseman in the future, like EJ? Absolutely.
If you keep Green, Joe is the highest you can shoot for with a forward. Just my opinion.
Mike Green was also likely not to expensive for you to aquire, which also makes it worthwhile. How many FA pick-ups get traded for proven 100 pt durable production? Not very many.
