Over/Under on how long it takes for this thread to exceed five pages? I say 52 hours.

My thoughts on Berube:
I'm not sure Berube's STL success will translate to TOR.
That STL roster doesn't seem very similar to the TOR roster...
They were playing off ZERO expectations towards playoffs.
Teams can really do well and surprise with minimal expectations.
I would say the situation in Toronto is... well... the opposite of zero expectations.
Good luck Mr.Berube! (you will need it)
The middle of the East is rising fast (MON, BUF, DET) & OTT still has potential.
Leafs could get nipped next year if the pieces don't gel.
They still have to figure out some D & G... ain't necessarily gonna be better...

Taking the under on 5 pages.
What is the over/under for Berube’s tenure as the 32nd Toronto coach?
Would probably take the under there also…
Wish him the best, but the gig in Toronto seems like a coach’s worst nightmare: high expectations, low patience, no prior exceptional performance, upcoming star resigning drama, and a history of unwarranted termination - they just canned their best Win% coach… what have you done for us lately?

No surprise here. They want to bring somebody in there to light some fires. He will hold players accountable. To me there is no real pressure on him. He comes in, cracks some skulls and if it doesn’t work then oh well, it’s not like it worked in like… forever. I think he’s the hire they need now. The core isn’t getting any younger.
Coach isn't going to matter if they continue to build a defense that can't move the puck and a bottom 6 that can't score. Given the GM, I wouldn't hold my breath.
Will be interesting to see what this will mean for Minten.
I didn't think Keefe was the problem in TO and I don't think Berube is the solution either. If the Leafs are going to "get fixed" the Toronto "Brain Trust" better figure out how to manage the Salary Cap and build a team that can compete deep into the playoffs. Honestly, unless there is some change way up top, I don't like their chances.

what system does Berube use ?
Ride Pietrangelo to a cup, then not do much in the playoffs post Piet.
I really wanted Rod (But obviously I knew that wasn't happening), but I think Keefe is still a better coach than Berube, but Berube was prolly the next best available guy and he's the opposite of Keefe.
Roster this yr post deadline aligned more with Berube, but whatever. Still a huge issue with their PP in my opinion. And Savard being the rumoured guy coming in to likely take over the PP is not a strong move.
