McTavish for D. Toews/York?

I'm hurting at D and strong at forward was offering this trade. It is a keeper cap league and I McTavish is $1. But I feel with the strength of my forwards Id be crazy not to try and upgrade my D. Its roto scoring style h2h weekly 16 teams

I was thinking about countering McTavish for Towes/Matheson or McTavish/Drysdale for Toews/Matheson/York, he has Seider, Jones, Karlsson, Carlson so stacked at D

1. What is total cap - I'm guessing it's auction style?
2. What do York & Toews cost?
3. What are the categories?

I don't think your D is weak, honestly. However, bench D would help.

You should be able to get more - I agree. But other GMs will be smart enough to sniff out your glut of forwards and comparative lack of D, and might hold you over a barrel, resulting in perhaps you having to take less for MacTavish than should be required if you want to move him.

Toews/York for a combined $4 seems pretty good to me. Depends on waht the max teams can spend is, but I think it's at worst, a reasonable move.

In my opinion for the price tag of McTavish at $1, I would be asking for a little more. I think what you really have to weigh out here is the dynamics of how your team is built. You stated that you are very strong at the forward position and need help at the defense position. This trade will definitely help that, but at what cost for the future. So it is a give and take with this sort of deal in my opinion. It would not be a horrible trade on your part, but I would want just a little more.

i would see if he gives you Towes for Duchene or Laine...im inclined to keep McTavish, you will not get proper value for him right now. In two years you will either be slightly disappointed in your decision to trade him or you be kicking yourself every time you see him play:P in other words to me he will either be slightly better than Towes production wise or way better. I really dont see different scenario.
